About the project
LAW-The board has chosen to prioritize Virsbo activity trail with approval as it will in its entirety lead to the achievement of the goals of the local development strategy.
Specifically, this is a project that meets the objectives of the priority area Improving the living conditions of people in Bergslagen, as the aim is to promote a healthy lifestyle for both young and old, all year round. The project is based on strong local commitment in the mining town of Virsbo and broad cooperation between associations, schools, companies and civil society. It is not only What Virsbo wants to build something that is central – without how they do it together.
The LAG board believes that the Virsbo activity track has good potential to create meetings across generational boundaries and welcome participants with different conditions for movement. The activity track that is being built around the artificial turf field will attract everyone from grandparents with walkers, children learning to cycle, young people in wheelchairs and adults who inline skate. The Virsbo activity track will be an investment in people, relationships and faith in the future.
The project is considered public benefit as the purpose is to promote a healthy lifestyle among children and young people in Virsbo by establishing a activity track which is open to everyone. It is the rural residents who will benefit from the project.
