Equipment for birdwatching

CASE

The project's goal is to develop the association's youth branch with the help of new equipment. The goal is to let young people in northern Västmanland try birdwatching.

Purpose

The purpose of the project is to increase the quality of life for young people in Bergslagen by welcoming them to a new and interesting hobby in nature with fresh air, exercise, and rich nature experiences.

Justification

The sub-activity is granted support as BirdLife Västmanland's project idea follows the ambitions of the environmental check C4C, Communities for Climate.

Birdlife Sweden states that Sweden's bird fauna is already clearly affected by the climate changes we have been exposed to in recent decades. Activities where young people get to go out and birdwatch with good equipment and learn about our most common birds can create an understanding of how important it is to protect our nature.

Leader Bergslagen believes it is fun that BirdLife Västmanland wants to arrange birdwatching where young people from both Skinnskatteberg, Fagersta, and Norberg are welcomed to try out, starting in the Summer Carousel 2026.

Development of Grecksåsars Bygdegård

CASE

The goal is to develop Grecksåsars Bygdegård with environmentally and climate-smart activities.

Purpose

The purpose of the project is to protect nature by thinking long-term about how a community center can be used for activities and how it can be heated in an environmentally sustainable way.

Justification

Together, the members of the community center want to preserve their house for the future, install a heat pump, and have environmentally related lectures. The energy-saving heating system will improve the conditions for utilizing the community center and thus also increase the quality of life and improve the service for the villagers.

About the project

The LAG board has chosen to prioritize the C4C umbrella project with approval as it will in its entirety lead to goal achievement according to the local development strategy.

The LAG board believes that umbrella projects are a good way to stimulate small-scale local development ideas. It is interesting to take inspiration from the ongoing EU project Communities for Climate C4C, which we can do with this umbrella project.
