Social sustainability
”The project is part of the establishment of the association-driven activity house, something that has never existed in the municipality.
The threshold for meeting the municipality's association life should be low and welcoming!
The relationship-building process between people is believed to lead to increased engagement for each other's life situations and thus a greater commitment to the common life in the municipality.”

About the project
The LAG board has chosen to prioritize Folkets Hus Kopparberg – renovation of stage and lounge with approval as it will in its entirety lead to the fulfillment of the local development strategy. Specifically, this is a project that meets goals within the intervention area Improve living conditions for the people of Bergslagen as the purpose is to increase the cultural offerings in Ljusnarsberg municipality. The aim is to enable stage performances with professional technology in front of a larger audience.
The upgrading of Folkets Hus in Kopparberg will have a positive impact on the locality and how people feel about the place. The stage, auditorium, and boxes in the project contribute to strengthening Folkets Hus as a central, important gathering point for all residents of Kopparberg, as well as visitors from northern Örebro County and southern Dalarna and surrounding areas.
The LAG board believes that this project has good conditions to create a long-term effect. The board sees synergies with other ongoing projects – both Leader projects and other EU or Heritage Fund projects. The house is buzzing with ideas that strengthen each other. The Folkets Hus project can join forces with the parallel project that is ongoing, ”Our place, our story,” which is about strengthening Ljusnarsberg's self-image.
