Social sustainability
”The courses give members an increased social community where they have a common goal.
No prior knowledge required
which means that everyone can participate without preconditions.
Participants contribute to a sustainable society by protecting and preserving the windows that already exist. This is at a time when we all need to reduce our environmental impact.”"”

About the project
The LAG board has chosen to prioritize the Window Renovation Course Nickebo School with approval as it will in its entirety lead to the achievement of the goals of the local development strategy. Specifically, this is a project that meets goals within the focus area Protect nature The aim is to increase knowledge about renovating and preserving – as opposed to waste and waste of natural resources. The traditional craft of window renovation is an old, tried and tested field, but few people know how it actually works.
By holding a course in window renovation using traditional methods, participants can learn how to keep their windows in good condition using natural products based on linseed oil.
Participants will also learn how to replace damaged beams with new wood. They will learn what to consider when choosing wood, which is best suited to last a long time.
In the countryside, it is important that people come together and find common platforms where they can exchange experiences and inspiration for living more sustainably. This also creates a sense of community, which provides a synergy effect. Where fun and interesting courses are offered, it also becomes more attractive to live.
Courses like these are what many city dwellers dream of and can be crucial in making them actually take the plunge and move out to the countryside.
