Gustaf Erikson's room
The MC Museum built Gustaf Erikson's room to honor the designer of the first Swedish car with an internal combustion engine.
The room will be used for information meetings about the association and the activities of the MC museum Gyllene Hjulet, as well as opportunities for other associations and schools to borrow the premises.
About the project
The purpose of the project is to attract more visitors to Surahammar.
The goal of the project is to have Gustaf Erikson's exhibition room ready.
The activities in the project are to pour a foundation slab, erect a frame, lay a roof and carry out additional construction work.
The Leader Method
Local support has been ongoing for a long time to ensure that this project benefits as many target groups as possible. Schools will use the room in their teaching. Local companies will use the room for internal and external meetings. The municipality is involved and supports the project group.
There is a plan for how the project will lead to increased tourism. Mchk Mälardalen gets more visitors to the MC museum Gyllene Hjulet. More people will learn that Gustaf Erikson is the father of the Swedish car with Surahammar as the "birthplace". The MC museum, Bruksparken, Bruksmuseet and Hembygdsgården are being developed as natural meeting points in Surahammar.

Excerpt from the final report
In the effort, we have, with the help of high school students and club members, completed Gustaf Erikson's room. The work has included both practical and preparatory elements, where the participants have together contributed to creating a finished and welcoming environment. Through the collaboration, we have managed to complete the project in a committed and efficient manner.
I also want to talk about female role models.
”"”A photo exhibition about rally women will be in the room.
Greta Molander, drove the rally successfully.
Evy Rosqvist won the Argentine Rally.

About the project
The LAG board has chosen to prioritize the project Gustaf Erikson's room in Surahammar with approval as it puts the town on the map and strengthens Surahammar as a tourist destination. Increased collaboration between actors benefits rural residents.
The project is expected to lead to increased interest in engine history in the leader area, which may also increase interest in future fossil-free engine solutions.
Justification for support level: The project has a support level of 100% as the result, i.e. the prepared Gustaf Erikson room, will be available for all residents of the leader area to visit.
