About the project
Purpose

CASE
The goal of the project is to produce a feasibility study report that can form the basis for the development and future use of the Machine Building.
Activities
Activities in the project include project management and completion of the final report.
The questions to be answered
With the feasibility study, we want to be able to answer the following questions, which are required to be able to move forward in the process:
– What physical measures are required and possible to facilitate cultural activities with an audience in the venue (both from a safety perspective and the needs of the activities)
– How should coordination take place between the different actors (non-profit and professional) in order to best create a whole?
that is interesting for visitors and the region?
– What brand should Maskinhuset be?
– How can Maskinhuset interact with other tourist attractions and cultural scenes in Grängesberg (Cassels, Disponentparken
with more).
– Where should the rental/booking responsibility lie? What criteria should be in place and how should the division of responsibility look like?

About the project
The LAG board has chosen to prioritize the project Pre-study – The Machine Room as a Cultural Stage with approval as it can contribute to enriching cultural life in several art forms. The board looks positively on initiatives that develop our cultural and historical meeting places.
The project is considered to be of public benefit as there is commitment and ambition from several stakeholders to develop a new cultural scene in the municipality, including local associations, the municipality, student unions and the National Theatre both regionally and nationally. The project benefits residents in rural areas.
At the time of decision, the LAG board has a support ceiling of SEK 65,000 for feasibility studies, which is why the project is not funded under 100%.
