Web-based guide training Ecomuseum Bergslagen

With this project, Ekomuseum Bergslagen wants to increase the quality of its guide training by producing new educational material on the theme of ”guide training”. The films will be used in training courses for guides, in study circles and perhaps even in schools.

About the project

The purpose of Web-based guide training Ecomuseum Bergslagen is to increase the quality of guide training within Ecomuseum Bergslagen.

The goal of the project is to develop educational materials for guide training in Ekomuseum Bergslagen.

The project activities are to produce films about the Bergslagen Ecomuseum.

The films that are made for use in guide training are now available on the website. See the tab "Bergslagen" and then the first sub-tab where it says "Films about Ekomuseum Bergslagen". https://ekomuseum.se/filmer/

You can also go to https://youtube.com/@ekomuseumbergslagen

The target group is aspiring – and experienced – guides of all ages. No prior knowledge is required.

The first five films are well suited for anyone interested in Bergslagen and history.

”From volcanoes to Bergslagen”, ”From Bergslagen to Stockholm” and ”Faster, more – too much?” paint Bergslagen with broad brushstrokes. Each guide places its place in this story: where does that ”puzzle piece” fit into the larger context.

”People and society” and ”People at home” provide inspiration for other topics to talk about, since Ekomuseum Bergslagen, in addition to industrial history, is also about ”the whole human life.” Feel free to add your own topics here!

”"Working as a guide: Preparations", "Working as a guide: Guide script & pedagogy" and "Working as a guide: The visitors are coming" are about guide technique, how we as guides are heard and seen, are educational, get the whole group involved - and have fun in the meantime.

Now and in the future

– Organizers. Those of you who are going to organize guide training using the films, please get in touch if you would like to discuss the arrangement.

– Watch and read. The website, where the links to the films are, will soon also have the voiceover text, to read online or print.

– Subtitles. The films are now unsubtitled, but will be subtitled in Swedish.

– Cinema format. The films should be made in a format that allows them to be shown in cinemas.

– Study circle. Study circle material will be made for the films. Those of you who use the films in guide training this year, I would be happy to share your experiences when I begin the work this fall.

– Errors in the films: If you find any errors in the films – please let us know. Any edits will be made at the end of the year. Thanks for your help!

Notifications will be sent via email and on Ekomuseum Bergslagen's Facebook and Instagram when the voiceover text is available on the website, when subtitled versions, the cinema format and study circle materials are ready.
