Leader Bergslagen is a non-profit association that implements rural development in the municipalities of Fagersta, Hällefors, Norberg, Lindesberg (except Fellingsbro), Ljusnarsberg, Ludvika, Nora, Skinnskatteberg, Smedjebacken, and Surahammar.

Leader is a method. All projects that are granted support by Leader Bergslagen initiate some form of development process. Many times, the projects lead to new business ideas or new opportunities for livelihood. To lead in that direction, it is important that the projects focus on HOW one wants to work, and not just WHAT one wants to do. Read more about the Leader method here.

Financing
Our member municipalities finance Leader Bergslagen with 33%. The remaining 67% comes from the EU and the state.
