We have beautiful nature with lots of forest and water. There is development potential in nature tourism, multiple farming and awareness-raising efforts about the values of nature.
It is important to have good collaboration between nature tourism stakeholders and forest owners, so that the forest can be used both as a sustainable raw material, as for nature tourism and outdoor recreation, and to promote biodiversity. There is a desire to find solutions to conflicts that exist in the forest and how it is used. The Leader method can play a role in finding local initiatives that strengthen the countryside.
Other development needs are to make outdoor activities more accessible, for example by better clearing of hiking trails, developing canoe trails, developing fishing conservation areas, developing horseback riding, more shooting ranges, etc.
Through Leader projects, we can also increase knowledge about the right of public access and environmental goals.
Overall, we see that the theme of nature can be applied both to the development area of entrepreneurship as well as to quality of life when it comes to implementing Leader in Bergslagen.
