Local initiatives in Smedjebacken are supported by the EU

Every krona Smedjebacken pays in as co-financing is exchanged for up to three krona. In this way, Smedjebacken, together with the other localities, can bring EU funds back to their municipalities.

Associations and companies receive their projects co-financed from the EU Rural Development Fund through Leader Bergslagen

Smedjebacken is one of the ten municipalities that make up Leader Bergslagen's membership base. Every krona Smedjebacken pays in as co-financing is exchanged for up to three kronor. In this way, Smedjebacken, together with the other localities, can bring EU funds home to their municipalities.

Leader Bergslagen's board has so far distributed 21 million SEK to over 20 projects. Eight of these projects are called checks. This is support that can be applied for for smaller activities.

In total, the association has a budget of 41 million SEK to distribute during the period 2023-2027, which means that there is still 20 million SEK left in the pot. Leader's Office is available year-round for questions and to test your ideas.

More projects within nature and the environment are desired. Projects with young people as a target group are also desired.

Do you also want to have your project idea prioritized?

Then the first step is to test your idea to see if it fits the Leader template. Contact the office who tests the idea with the board. Remember that cooperation and innovative is crucial for a project to be just that leader-project.

If the idea follows the Leader method, you should book a project workshop with the office. Then you apply for funding via the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service. The LAG board decides on prioritization using basic conditions and selection criteria which are presented on the website.

EU flag

Make it visible that it is a Leader project. If the project receives money from the EU, it is important to use the logo, and to do it correctly.
