The Swedish Board of Agriculture has announced that it will be possible to carry out umbrella projects during the next program period. It is the same as what we previously called ”quick money,” ”checks,” or ”the rural million.”.
During the last period, it has been possible to apply for checks of up to 30,000 kronor per project, something that has been popular among local associations and organizations throughout Sweden. Support is provided with between 40 and 100 percent of eligible expenses when the main benefit of the project accrues to a broader public or is a prerequisite for, for example, business development, civil society, living environment, knowledge, services, climate and environment, the attractiveness of rural areas, or otherwise a good living environment. What are umbrella projects?
Umbrella projects make it possible for individuals and other actors to apply for support for smaller projects or activities. It is investments in sub-projects instead of starting a large leader project.
