Go-karts for everyone
Go-kart has previously not been able to be offered to people with mobility impairments due to the lack of adapted go-karts with hand controls in Bergslagen. This project was awarded for This year's best Leader project 2025.

The three partnership
In this project, individuals from the non-profit organization Funktionsrätt Dalarna, the recruitment group Dalarna, Region Dalarna's habilitation department, and the company Hyrkart Grängesberg collaborate.
The bottom-up perspective and local needs
There is a genuine interest among the project group to create fun activities in Bergslagen for those who are in wheelchairs. You may not be able to walk – but driving fast and competing against your friends with Go-Kart, that's what you want!
Therefore, the project has invested in not just one Go-Kart with hand controls, but four! This means that you, regardless of mobility ability, can participate and compete.
Projects should be fun!
This Leader project spreads joy. It may seem very simple to invest in equipment and offer free trial days. But then you don't know all the work that happens behind the scenes. The collaboration and networking that occurs among the participants – for the project to succeed in its purpose; to make society more inclusive for those with physical mobility impairments.
About the project
The purpose of the project was to increase the availability of go-karts accessible to people with mobility impairments.
The goal of the project was to arrange free trial days in collaboration with disability rights associations.
The project consisted of organizing free trial days to which participants with mobility impairments from all municipalities were invited.
