The purpose of the project was to create an annually recurring detective fiction festival in Nora and thereby create a meeting place for the creators and audiences of the detective genre that attracts tourists to the city.

The goal of the project was to create the conditions for the "Nora Crime Fiction Festival", which will become an annual festival and be arranged every year in April.

The goal of the project was also to create a network around the detective fiction festival and provide a network for young entrepreneurs in the creative industry.

The activities in the project were to carry out the meetings and planning required to create the conditions for an annually recurring festival by arranging the detective festival in 2024.

Decision justification

The LAG board has chosen to prioritize the project Create conditions for an annual detective story festival in Nora with approval as it will in its entirety lead to goal achievement according to the local development strategy. 

The LAG board believes that the project is a good way to develop the tourism industry in Bergslagen.

SThe aim of the project is to applicant establishr a detective festival in Nora and to create a network around the detective genre consisting of the detective writers and their audience. The maximum amount of support within project support for companies is SEK 200,000.
