About the project
The purpose of the project was to investigate the conditions for creating an education in artisanal cider production using Swedish apples.
- The goal was to produce a feasibility study report based on the collected knowledge and understanding of the industry's needs and interests.
- The goal was that the work on the feasibility study report would lead to the creation of a new network within the subject.
The activities in the project were to create the basis for an easily accessible feasibility study report that can be disseminated to a wide audience. The activities included mapping, surveys, interviews, and an investigation into the conditions for cider education.

”The existing educational programs often require a year of study or more, which makes it difficult for many to combine with their other commitments in life, such as taking care of children and family.”

Decision justification
The LAG board has chosen to prioritize (Feasibility Study) Education in artisanal cider production using Swedish apples with approval as it will in its entirety lead to goal fulfillment according to the local development strategy.
The LAG board believes that the feasibility study is a good way to gather stakeholders around the need for a place-based and/or digital education for beverage producers tailored to the needs of small-scale producers who want to learn more about how to refine Swedish apples into artisanal cider.
