- Finnish administrative area within Leader Bergslagen.
- Ecomuseum Bergslagen or another (eco)museum with a focus on industrial and cultural heritage.
- Other corresponding activities that are in harmony with the purpose of the project, e.g. active in an association in the Leader area.
- Municipal official, regional official or similar, with an interest in this network.
The project Study and inspiration trip Bergslagen – Finland is funded by Leader Bergslagen.
The trip is fully booked.
The goal of the project is to carry out a study trip to places of industrial historical interest in Finland.
The aim of the project is to promote minority languages and culture in Bergslagen. The hope is that the study trip will lead to new collaborations between the Finnishöthe administrative areas within the Leader Bergslagen area. There is a interesting point of contact between Mountaineering and others industrial historical sites around the EU, for example Finland. In addition, our countries have a long shared history. The project will be a way to revivelto be the work with the minority language Finnish – in a Bergslag context.
The background to the trip is that there is now a relatively newly formed "sister museum" to the Ecomuseum Bergslagen in Finland: Industrial Heritage Society. Several of Ekomuseum Bergslagen's founding municipalities are also Finnish administrative areas.
Through the trip, we want to develop our collaboration with the sister museum, but also look at how we can become better at promoting Finnish in our home municipalities.
We welcome fellow travelers from both the museum world and officials from Finnish administrative areas. The goal is to learn from our sister museum and municipalities in Finland and to create new collaborations at home so that after the trip we can continue to explore the different perspectives of emigration and immigration.
Program for the study trip 17-20 March 2026
We reserve the right to make changes to the program. The places we visit in Finland are included in Industrial Heritage Society, which is a newly started eco-museum with a focus on industrial heritage. We mainly get information about industrial history, but also about what it meant in Finland that so many Finns moved to Sweden.
