Start decision from the Swedish Board of Agriculture
Hereby it is announced that Leader Bergslagen will be able to implement local led development through the Leader method 2023-2027! This means that we can start planning for application processes, coaching, meetings … among other things.
In February, planning will take place and in March the association's board, nomination committee, and staff will receive training from the Swedish Board of Agriculture. Thereafter, associations and companies can start submitting applications for Leader projects. In the spring, meetings will be arranged around the Leader area.
– Now we will make sure to schedule information meetings and create good guidance for the website, says the operations manager Vivi Båvner. There is a lot that needs to be in place before we can start distributing the funds.
The total budget for the program period is 41 million kronor where 33% will come from the co-financing municipalities. Leader projects will be a way for the municipalities to ”leverage” their efforts with the help of money from the EU and the state.
– Above all, it is about helping associations and companies to realize the project ideas they have, explains Vivi.
It can involve larger projects where several actors collaborate, or several municipalities. But it can also be feasibility studies. Or it can be so-called vouchers within umbrella projects. Vouchers are easily accessible project funds for associations and companies. These umbrella projects will be developed by Leader Bergslagen during the spring so that they become searchable by summer 2023.
The umbrella projects take their starting point in the goals of the strategy. Leader Bergslagen's funds should go to initiatives that lead to:
- New leisure and cultural activities
- New networks and collaborations
- New products and services
