Youth check

The Youth Check provides reimbursement for expenses in smaller projects – for young people who want to try new activities or orientations. 

An example of how it works.

1. First, the project's activity and cost must be approved by Leader Bergslagen. You can, for example, search for price lists in online stores and find good prices.
2. When the office says OK, you can make the purchase and carry out the activity.
3. Pay the bill, show us with a bank statement that the money has been deducted from the account.
4. Submit the final report for the activity, telling us what you did with the money.
5. Leader Bergslagen deposits the money into the account.

What costs can a project within the youth voucher have?

The costs in a check must be linked to the activity you want to carry out. All costs must be assessed as reasonable by the office. To explain, we will give a couple of examples.

• The idea is to organize an art club as a leisure activity for young people. The expenses will be 7,000 kronor for two easels, canvases, paper, paint, brushes. Price comparison between two large department stores.
• The idea is to hold a dance event during the holidays and invite a professional instructor. The instructor will charge 10,000 kronor for his gig, including travel expenses. The assignment includes holding two workshops during one afternoon.
• The idea is to invite young people one evening to listen to an interesting lecturer, an influencer. The influencer charges 6,000 kronor for his lecture, including travel expenses.
• The idea is to invite an artist who performs for young people. A local artist can charge around 5,000 kronor for a gig. If the artist does not have his own company, he can use The freelance finance solution.
• The idea is to set up two basketball hoops on an existing asphalt surface located between a football field and a tennis court. Materials, shipping and assembly cost 20,000 SEK.
• The idea is to arrange a talk show to inspire young people to find their way in life. The talk show host charges an invoice for an evening visit to the recreation center, the community center, the people's house, the library - the place where the event takes place.
• The idea is to arrange a workshop at the recreation center during the school holidays with retro games. A person will come and bring old TV sets and game consoles so that the young people can test how the old equipment works. • The idea is to arrange a scout overnight stay and offer swimming in a sauna tent. The invoice is 13,000 SEK.

Financing

• Each youth check should have a budget between SEK 3,000 and SEK 20,000.
• The project should benefit the general public. The activity should be welcoming to all young people in Bergslagen, regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, religion, etc.
• The costs are reimbursed with 100% by Leader. It is important to use the EU flag to show that the EU is involved and sponsoring.
• You contribute 30% of non-profit time as co-financing. Example. A project with expenses of 10,000 SEK should have approximately 9 hours of non-profit effort. For example, there could be 3 people working 3 hours each for free on the project.

Who can apply for the youth check?

You can apply as a private individual. But keep in mind that the money from us is paid in arrears! If a project has costs of, for example, 3000 SEK, we do not want to give advance payment to private individuals. But we can Provide advances to associations, recreation centers and schools when necessary.
